April 12, 2002 - Apr 12, 2002 - Rivka Fink, 75, of Jerusalem was killed by a woman suicide bomber who detonated a powerful charge at a bus stop on Jaffa road next to the entrance to Jerusalem's Mahane Yehuda open-air market. Another 104 people were injured in the blast, among them nine Arabs. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack.

Rivka Fink was born in the Old City of Jerusalem, the fourth generation of her family in the city. She was a nurse during the war of 1948.

Rivka volunteered at Yad Sarah, which lends medical and orthopedic equipment to the public. She devotedly cared for her husband, who passed away half a year ago, during his ten-year illness.

She had gone to the market with her son, Roni, who lives in Ma'aleh Adumim. He wanted to give her a ride home, but she didn't want to delay him. She insisted on taking the bus and promised that she would arrive home by herself.

Rivka Fink was buried in the Givat Shaul cemetery in Jerusalem. She leaves behind four children and nine grandchildren.

May God bless her memory.
