A sad reminder of racism and anti-Semitism
I signed up for a service that allows users of FactsOfIsrael.com to rate the site from 1 to 10.
As you can see from the graph above, in the last 24 hours I have received many bad marks. It's a sad reminder of how many people hate Jews and Israelis out there.
These bad marks have nothing to do with the content or the site itself, since I have received hate messages from people that did not bother to go through the site. They simply hate me because I am Jewish and support the State of Israel against Palestinian terrorism.
I'll leave this graph here just to remind me that our struggle against racism and anti-Semitism is far from over - the graph is automatically updated as people cast their vote.
If you like FactsOfIsrael.com and would like to give us a 10, please click here.
Update 8:30 PM: When I posted this entry at 5:30 PM our index was listed at 1.8. Since then over 20 people have given FactsOfIsrael.com a 10, bringing our average to over 9! Thank you!

This is indeed a sad reminder..that many people jump to conclusions the moment they get information that plays into their own assumptions about life.
>>They simply hate me because I am Jewish and support the State of Israel against Palestinian terrorism.
Or maybe they're just trolling you for fun? Maybe they don't like your web site design? There are a hundred of reasons more logical than the "it's the start of a new Holocaust" reaction.

You have a point, but that was not the central idea of my posting. What I was trying to describe is a rejection of the site because of anti-Semitism or anti-Zionism (which is the same).
That same day, many of the same people that voted against FactsOfIsrael.com sent me hate messages proving that they are racist and anti-Semitic.
They did not look at the site nor its content, they simply rejected it because it was associated with Israel and Judaism - that's anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism whether you like it or not.
Too bad that you can't accept that anti-Semitism (or anti-Zionism) exists.

Oh, come on. It's not that anti-Semitism exists or not. My point was that it isn't the only thing that exists, or the only reason people do stuff to Jews.
It most definitely exists out there in the world. Along with anti-Negroes, anti-Poles, anti-Mormons, and a whole bunch of other ones.

I don't really agree. I don't think that someone who gives my blog a bad rating on "blog or not" is an anti-wahist. Calling it anti-Semitism dilutes the whole phrase and those places where it is applicable. You're crying wolf. Err, you cried it, and then caught yourself and remedied the situation with reparations. ;-)

Check out my original posting. I said:
"These bad marks have nothing to do with the content or the site itself, since I have received hate messages from people that did not bother to go through the site. They simply hate me because I am Jewish and support the State of Israel against Palestinian terrorism."
Here's a sample of one of these message:
"YOU FUCKIN JEW!!!!! YOUR SITE SUCKS!!! HITLER DID NOT FINISH THE JOB!!!! FUCKIN PIG AND MONKEY JEW!!!"
Now, you may think that the above bastard really judged FactsOfIsrael.com on its design and content, but I have a hunch he didn't.
The above is clearly anti-Semitism (violence or hostility against Jews) and that was my whole point in posting my original message.
Some people might really not like the site and that's ok - but once again that's not what I was referring to.
I did not "Cry Wolf" and I did not backtrack - there are anti-Semites out there who stumbled upon FactsOfIsrael.com and gave the site a bad mark simply because they hate Jews and Israelis.
Funny that you have a tough time accepting this.

o.k. now we're making some progress.
>>These bad marks have nothing to do with the content or the site itself, since I have received hate messages from people that did not bother to go through the site.
My question now, is how many of these hate mails do you get in an average day, or week? (That sucks you get them, I don't nearly stir up that controversy with my site...yet) I ask only because of your experience with Blog or Not, and your (still IMHO) mistaken opinion that the two go together. In my experience, I had the same exact thing happen. After 20 ratings I was sitting at a 1.7 (now 7.x). This is why I was skeptical of the conclusion you had drawn.
There are a lot of young hotheads around the Net as I'm sure you're aware. Some just like to push buttons (literally and psychologically). While I have no doubt there are people in this world that hate the very idea of a Jew, there are many more that just go through the motions. Building a victim oriented response doesn't help much either.
(note this is part of my general problem with your website. Despite the OBVIOUS bias, it is also portraying Israel as a victim. When, in fact, for the first time in the history of the people, they are the oppressors.)
>Funny that you have a tough time accepting this.
There's no reason for parting shots like this. But since you started it...nah. Have a good day.

Sure some people do hate Jews. But I don't think that they give you hate letters on purpose (well, at least not all), they could just be sending letters for fun. I mean there are people out there that really have not else better to do than to make people feel bad. But, I don't think any kind of terrorism is going to solve anything. So, just don't let some people get into your nerves, just because they're idiots.
