Report: Palestinian terrorist Yasser Arafat close to being deported from the West Bank

Ha'aretz (www.haaretzdaily.com) has information that Israel almost arrested and deported Yasser Arafat, the Palestinian's excuse for a leader.

Report: PM, Mofaz discussed operational plan to deport Arafat http://news.haaretz.co.il/hasen/ pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=198569

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon gave his approval to an operational military plan for the deportation of Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat from the territories, but it was rejected by the Cabinet, Channel Two television reported Friday.

According to the report, the military plan was presented to the Cabinet shortly after Sharon and then-IDF Chief of Staff Shaul Mofaz discussed it in April. During the discussion of the plan, several ministers argued that the damage it would cause Israel outweighed its benefits.

Orders were issued to an elite IDF unit to make the necessary preparations to capture Arafat inside his Ramallah headquarters and expel him, the report said. The plan called for troops to infiltrate the Palestinian leader's headquarters, to take control of the building and capture Arafat while being sure not to harm him.

A helicopter was to transport the PA Chairman directly to a neighboring Arab state that does not have diplomatic relations with Israel nor close ties with the United States. Arafat would be dropped off in a desolate area, and only after the Israeli force's safe return to Israel would the Arab country be informed of Arafat's presence there.

It's too bad Israel did not go through with the plan. Yasser Arafat is a murderous bastard and is responsible for dozens of terrorist attacks against unarmed Israeli civilians, including children and babies. See the Palestine page for more details.
