Song turns ugly on "Late Show with David Letterman"

David Letterman has been a famous comedian in the United States for literally decades. Currently (and for the last 10 years), he has a show called "Late Show with David Letterman" on the American network "CBS". For more details on "Late Show with David Letterman", check out their web site at

A "Mail Bag" question on "Late Show with David Letterman"

Last Friday (10/8/2004), Mr. Letterman was reading letters sent to him by fans from different parts of America. Reading letters from fans is something Mr. Letterman does on a weekly basis, on a part of the show called "Mail Bag".

One of the letters inquired the following:

What if finding the love of your life,
meant changing the life that you love?

From Nina Duran of San Antonio, Texas

David Letterman quickly turned to Paul Shaffer (who has been Mr. Letterman's musical director and sidekick for over 21 years), and asked him if this wasn't a song... See below for the rest, where Paul's song turns ugly and we find who (not so) surprinsingly wrote the music and lyrics.

What if finding the love of your life
Meant changing the life that you love?
What if listening to your heart
Meant losing what you’re dreaming of?
What if all that you want to do
Is to drive out your mortal foe?
But the Godless American jackals
Refuse to let you go?

Oh infidels . . . you infidel pig-dogs. ..
This is your warning . . . this is our jihad . . .

Oh infidels . . . you infidel pig dogs,
Prepare for the wrath of God

Islamic Supremacist Cat Stevens (who changed his name to Yusuf Islam)

Dave interrupts. “Wait, Paul. Are those the correct lyrics?”. Paul holds up the sheet music. “Yeah, it’s right here in Cat Stevens Greatest Anti-American Hits, “Infidel Pig-Dogs.” On the cover of the sheet music is a black and white photo of Cat Stevens.

Cat Stevens, was a famous American singer 20-30 years ago. He decided to convert to Islam and changed his name to "Yusuf Islam". After being completely brain washed, he decided to support Islamic Supremacist groups such as the Palestinian Hamas, an organisation that call for the destruction of Israel and the genocide of its Jewish citizens.

For this reason Mr. Yusuf Islam (aka Cat Stevens) was turned away by the Israeli police when he arrived in Tel-Aviv a couple of years ago. Recently, the American authorities also did not allow Mr. Islam to enter the United States.

I copy below an article published on the excellent LGF, that shows how Cat Stevens / Yusuf Islam was caught spitting hate in Canada in 1998:

Cat Stevens was guest of Canadian Hamas front, Link

TORONTO - Yusuf Islam, the British singer formerly known as Cat Stevens, was the guest of honour at a Toronto fundraising dinner hosted by an organization that has since been identified by the Canadian government as a “front” for the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

In a videotape of the 1998 event obtained by the National Post, Mr. Islam describes Israel as a “so-called new society” created by a “so-called religion” and urges the audience to donate to the Jerusalem Fund for Human Services to “lessen the suffering of our brothers and sisters in Palestine and the Holy Land.”

The Jerusalem Fund is one of four “fronts” named in a secret Privy Council Office memo that was sent to Jean Chretien, then prime minister, on May 23, 2000, discussing what it called groups that “have unsavoury links with terrorism.

“In a limited number of cases, fundraising in support of violent foreign struggles takes place in Canada through the cover of ethnic, religious or community-based associations and groups, lobbying and even criminal activity,” the report says.

“Front groups operating in Canada include the Jerusalem Fund for Human Services (Hamas Front), the World Tamil Movement (Tamil Tigers Front), the Canadian Kurdish Information Network (Kurdistan Workers Party Front) and the Babbar Khalsa (a Sikh extremist front).” ...

Mr. Islam denies any ties to terrorism. “I never knowingly gave any terrorist group money,” he said after being deported from Israel in 2000. “I’ve given to poor people and hospitals. I’ve helped to buy ambulances in the Holy Land. Obviously quite clear and supportable aims.”

But on June 20, 1998, Mr. Islam gave the keynote address at a Jerusalem Fund fundraising dinner held in Toronto. The event was videotaped, and a copy was obtained by the SITE Institute, a U.S. terrorism research organization.

The video opens with a scene of Niagara Falls, overlayed with the Jerusalem Fund logo, which features the al-Aqsa Mosque and the maple leaf. It begins with an unidentified man explaining the activities of the Jerusalem Fund, which he describes as “helping the Muslims in Palestine” by financing hospitals, health clinics, families in need and orphans.

“Palestine is close to the heart of each and every Muslim. What the Muslims of Palestine have been doing for many years now has been that bright light shining, that hope ... that they are still believers that can raise the banner of jihad in the most difficult of circumstances.”

Mr. Islam then begins a 45-minute speech in English in which he says it is “intolerable” for Muslims to “stand and watch” the situation in the Middle East. He describes Jerusalem as the centre of a land that is holy because of its connection to Allah.

“So this city which is blessed because of its religious nature. Therefore, what we see today is the result of the departure of religion from this area, of the uprooting of religion. So many of the people of the faith have been exiled from this region, moved on, to make way for what? Strangely and ironically, they moved on in the name of so-called religion, on behalf of ... the Jews.

“Of course, that would explain what is happening. Because the moment that religion and religious virtues disappear, there for sure follows trouble, tyranny, oppression,” he says. “So what do we see then today? The concoction of a so-called new society based on an old society.”

He says there could be “no redeemer except Allah. No political concept or construct or treaty or agent except the laws of Allah, which he instructed for this world. Jerusalem is that, the symbol of that. Out of the hands of the righteous then it falls into disrepute and blood.

“Jerusalem, al-Quds, it is a mirror reflecting the reality ... If it is dark, if it is bloody, then so too is the world. Today it reflects injustice of the secular man over the religious man. And how can the secular man be given the control and the sanctuary of the divine place of worship when he doesn’t even respect what is holy? How? And how can those of faith allow that to happen? Therefore, peace will not return until we return to the Holy Land.”

Note from David Melle: I hesitated in posting an article in the humor section after the massacre in the Sinai, where Islamic Supremacists have murdered over 30 people 5 days ago.

But life goes on, and I feel we must continue in whatever way possible to discredit and stop the mass murdering bastards from Al-Qaeda and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Hopefully, this article and this site are helping.

I don't think Stevens was brainwashed. I don't like to use that word much. I believe he's just many who share his sick beliefs. I don't usually say ANYONE is brainwashed (unless as a figure of speech), because it tends to justify their actions by saying that, in the end, they're really not totally responsible for their words and actions.

Just thought I'd add that opinion :)

Very nice site here...I was just posting about this and the twisted palestinian media that teaches children to hate on my site and wanted to find a bit more info on various related topics.

Yep, he's brainwashed all right, same as Patty Hearst, the Koresh group, Jonestown followers, the Doomsday Cult, the Manson family and many more mainstream. Many of us, in fact, to some little degree.

Yeah, he is definately gone to the far side.Think he will be cought fighting the Jihad in Iraq or Afghanistan?

I don't think "brainwashed" is the wrong term. It's perfectly apt in this case, as it includes what happens when incorrect or biased information is disseminated over the internet and elsewhere.

We cannot deny that we will always be subject to violence if we impart it ourselves.

I once had so much respect for this man. Thank-you very much for reporting on his activities. I am uphauld by his denial of Judaism as a religion. What right does he have to eliminate a religion from existence? Sounds like an intelliectual genocide to me. I wish and so do many others that we could take back all of the money we've spent on his collectables, used undoubtedly to fuel his hate and denial of a just and rightous religion. Muslims and Jews must coexist, and Mr Islam-Stevens is most certainly a threat to peace, security and stability and will G_d willing be forever band from the Holy Land! Hate has no place in the middle-eastern land of freedom!

He is not brainwashed.
It is his own decision to be this way.
He is a fool to think that one type of person is better and more deserving of Jerusalem than another, though.
The Israelis belong in Jerusalem.
They fought for years to live there.
And the Palestinians ruined their special temple on the mount and built their own temple over the top of it.
So they can't point fingers and complain.
Sometimes I think that nobody is evil.
People are just real sometimes, selfish and narrowminded and stubborn.
If you can't see the other person's point of view and think of what they feel, then you're not going to be a kind person.
And if you can't feel anything for others, then you will just go through life hurting other people.
And so thats what I think most (not all) Islamic people are like. They don't respect others, yet they demand respect for themselves.
But all they do is make people angry.
Some of my friends are followers of Islam.
My friend Sujaja for instance.
I see her way of life and it makes me sad and angry.
She has no status in her family. Her brothers, even her three year old brother, are all able to boss her.
They don't respect women. But how can anyone love a man who doesn't love of respect her? This is one of the main reasons I don't like Islam, but not just that.
Many religions divide between men and women and make the men objects of exaultation, and the women are basically considered worthless.

Yousif Islam does not deny the Judaism religion. If so, he would be a Kafir to Islam (a non-believer).

The man should be applauded by Christians and Jews for making a stance on European muslims by widening the 'moderism' of Islam and not following retarded fundementalist ideas. If you start demeaning people like him, then you are shutting all Muslims off out of prejudice which will only fuel extremism.

If there is one thing I remember acout Cat Stevens in the late 1970's was his harsh criticism of the US. I believe it was in a Rolling Stone interview. I am pretty liberal about this stuff, but his statements were very upsetting. I have not forgotten.

Happened upon this article while checking out this site. I agree the jewish people are to live in Israel because of my belief in the Bible. It makes me sad that we as Christians have failed to share the truth with so many who are obviously brainwashed by all the different forms of media. Cat Stevens will have to stand before God one day but we must sstrive to keep the truth alive for the next generation and not throw our hands up in the air and watch Islam take over.
