The Middle East problem
Dennis Prager explains "The Middle East problem":
Mr. Prager is right on: the solution may be hard, but the problem is simple: one side wants the other side dead.
Faces of the victims: Palestinian terrorists murder two sisters and their husbands near Eilat, Israel
Israel National News (http://www.israelnationalnews.com) reports that Palestinian terrorists entered Israel from Egypt and murdered two sisters and their husbands near the town of Eilat -
Sisters, Husbands Among Eilat Victims Israel National News, 8/20/2011, Link Two sisters and their husbands were murdered by terrorists near Eilat. Terrorists fired at their bodies to confirm slayings.
Four victims of the deadly attacks Thursday in Eilat have been identified as husband and wife Moshe and Flora Gaz, and Flora's sister Shulamit (Shula) Karlinsky and her husband, Dov Karlinsky. Both couples lived in Kfar Saba.
The four took off for a vacation in Eilat on Thursday, but never arrived. As they approached the city they were ambushed by terrorists, who fired an anti-tank missile at their car. After the missile hit his target, a terrorist approached the car and fired on the four to make sure they had all been slain.
Flora, 52, and Shula, 54, both worked in daycare centers for three- and four-year-old children in Kfar Saba. "They were very well-known and respected educators," Mayor Yehuda Ben-Hamo said of the two sisters. "This is a big tragedy for all of us." The Gaz family was expecting their first grandchild in another three months. They are survived by three children. The Karlinskys are survived by two children and two grandchildren.
"Flora and Moshe were excited for the birth of their first grandchild, but they will never see him," one of the couple's friends said Friday
In addition to Moshe Gaz, Fiora Gaz, Dov Karlinsky, and Shulamit Karlinsky, the Palestinian terrorists murdered 4 other Israelis - click here for more information on this massive terrorist attack from Hamas controlled Gaza; see below for additional pictures.
Palestinian terrorists murder 8 Israelis, attacking from Egypt
The Jerusalem Post (www.jpost.com) reports that Palestinian terrorists from Gaza entered Israeli from Egypt and murdered 8 Israelis -
The remains of an Israeli bus after Palestinian terrorists attacked and burned it down
[.] At least seven Israelis were killed and dozens were wounded in a sophisticated multi-stage terrorist attack, believed to be perpetrated by almost two dozen attackers and launched from Egypt's Sinai Peninsula into southern Israel on Thursday afternoon.
Two of the casualties were identified on Thursday night as St.-Sgt. Moshe Naftali, 22, from Ofra, and a policeman from the YAMAM Counterterrorism Unit named Pascal Avrahami, 49. Avrahami was married and had three children. Four others were said to be members of a family on vacation traveling in a car on Route 12 near Eilat [.].
Palestinian terrorist murders 5 Israelis – three children: an 11 year-old, a 3-year-old toddler, a one-month baby girl and their parents
The Jerusalem Post (http://www.jpost.com) reports that a Palestinian terrorist stabbed and murdered 5 Israelis - three children: an 11 year-old, a 3-year-old toddler, a one-month baby girl and their parents -
Terror attack in Itamar: 5 family members murdered
A Palestinian terrorist stabbed and murdered 5 members of the Fogel family
Police suspect armed terrorist entered house in West Bank and stabbed a couple along with 3 children; 2 other children escape unharmed.
Five family members were found murdered in their residence in the West Bank Itamar settlement Friday overnight, after a suspected terrorist broke and entered the house and stabbed the five to death. Two children managed to escape and survived the attack, Army Radio reported. A Magen David Adom team that arrived at the scene at 1:00 a.m. announced a couple, their 11-year old child, 3-year-old toddler, and a one-month baby girl dead from stabbing wounds.
Palestinian media on Saturday reported that a faction of Fatah's al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade claimed responsibility for the stabbing incident. [.]
The names of the five family members murdered in this terror attack were cleared for publication yesterday evening: Udi Fogel, 36, Ruth Fogel, 35, and their children Yoav, 11, Elad, 4, and three-month-old Hadas. The three siblings who survived the attack are Tamar, 12, Roi, 8, and two-year-old Yishai; they are staying with their grandparents at this time.
Palestinians Islamic terrorists attack Israel and murder 30-year-old woman from Thailand
The New York Times (www.nytimes.com) reports that Palestinian Islamic fanatics from Gaza have launched a rocket into an Israeli town and murdered a 30 year old woman from Thailand:
Palestinian Islamic fanatics use a rocket to murder Manee Singueanphon, a 30 year old woman and foreign agricultural worker from Thailand
Gaza Rocket Attack Into Israel Kills a Thai Worker The New York Times, 3/18/2010, Link
A foreign worker in Israel was killed Thursday by a rocket fired from the Hamas-controlled Palestinian territory of Gaza, according to the Israeli military, soon after the arrival here of the European Union's top foreign policy official.
[.] The foreign agricultural worker, Manee Singueanphon, 30, from Thailand, was the first person to die from Gaza rocket fire since the end of a three-week Israeli military offensive in Gaza in January 2009. Israel said the primary purpose of its military campaign was to halt years of rocket fire from Gaza into southern Israel.
The rocket on Thursday struck an Israeli cooperative farm called Nativ Haasara, near the Gaza border. Ansar al-Sunna, a small, fiercely anti-Western jihadist group that challenges Hamas, claimed responsibility for the attack.
One more person murdered by racist and intolerant Muslim Extremists from Gaza - the war against Islamic fanatics continues. I copy the full article below.
CNN reports how an Indian woman is making the difference in the life of a Jewish 3-year-old child who became an orphan after Islamic terrorists from Pakistan murdered his mother and father in 2009 in Mumbai, India:
Tel Aviv, Israel (CNN) -- In a scene his parents would have been heartened to see, family and friends recently thronged around young Moshe Holtzberg as men in black suits and black hats took turns cutting locks of hair from the boy's head on a stage in a rented party tent outside Tel Aviv, Israel.
The celebration marked Moshe's third birthday and in Hasidic Judaism tradition he received a haircut to symbolize his readiness to begin his religious education. Standing not 10 feet away and watching closely was Sandra Samuel, the Indian nanny who one year ago saved Moshe's life.
Samuel was working as a nanny for Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg when the Jewish Chabad Center they ran in Mumbai, India, came under attack by terrorists. Samuel survived the attack and rescued Moshe who she found crying, standing between the bodies of his parents.
Since that fateful day she has not left Moshe's side. Samuel accompanied him to Israel where, with her help, he is now being taken care of by his grandparents and extended family. A year on Sandra said the memories of Mumbai and Moshe's parents still haunt her. Holding back tears, she said, "I feel happy for the baby, but I am very sad, more than sad, I think."
The pain she feels remembering the horror of the attack is tempered by the great progress she has seen Moshe make since his arrival in Israel just days after his parents were killed. "He has adjusted very very well and is like a normal kid. He goes to school, he plays, he jumps. He has a lot of friends. His life is normal," she said.
Moshe's paternal grandfather Rabbi Nachman Holtzberg said Samuel has been like a surrogate mother. "She knows everything about him, all the natural things because she has known (him) since he was a small child. Things are getting better and better." Holtzberg added that the entire family rallied together to help Moshe adapt to life without his parents and believes his son would be pleased. "I'm sure that my son would be here now and looking at how I take care of him. He would be happy."
Samuel, a mother of two grown children, said she was trying to spend less time with Moshe so he could better adapt to his family and sees herself returning home to India within two years -- though she said she would stay in Israel for as long as Moshe needed her.
Samuel said her message was simple: "To carry on life. Be strong and that's it. Put everything in God's hands."
Israel wins war on Islamic fanatics from Gaza (Hamas)
The History News Network (www.hnn.us) has published a good analysis by Prof. Martin Kramer on how Israel has won last month's war against Hamas and other Islamic fanatics in Gaza:
Israeli soldiers celebrate after their convincing victory in the war against Hamas and other Palestinian Islamic fanatics in December 2008
[...] When Israel launched its operation, Hamas announced a secondary objective: to inflict significant military casualties on the Israelis. For this purpose, it had built up a network of fortifications supposedly on the Lebanon model, which it promised to turn into a "graveyard" for Israeli forces.
The military wing announced that "the Zionist enemy will see surprises and will regret carrying out such an operation and will pay a heavy price. Our militants are waiting with patience to confront the soldiers face to face." This too never happened. The Hamas line quickly folded, its "fighters" shed their uniforms and melted into the civilian population. That Hamas failed to fight did surprise many Israeli soldiers, who had expected more.
But there was no battle anywhere, and Israel suffered only 10 military fatalities, half of them from friendly fire. Hamas has taken to claiming that Israel has hidden its military casualties, and has thrown out various numbers—a rather precise measure of what it had hoped and failed to achieve.
[...] If the "siege" of Gaza is significantly eased or lifted (which I still think is unlikely), it won't be because Palestinian "resistance" forced Israel's hand. It will be because Palestinian suffering has weighed on the conscience of others. That's a very old story, and there's nothing new or "heroic" about it. Those [Palestinians] who've promised to liberate Jerusalem and Palestine by arms are (again) begging the world for sacks of flour.
The war on Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other Muslim fanatics continues. I copy the full article below.
I received a satirical comic strip from a good friend that describes how Israel is never allowed to defend herself -
Israel's "Aggression", the Nebelspalter, Switzerland, 1956
The satire was originally published in the Nebelspalter (a newspaper from Switzerland, http://www.nebelspalter.ch/) in 1956, over 50 years ago. This was the year of the "Suez Canal War" (see the history page for more details) and I believe the Israeli man depicted in the cartoon is David Ben-Gurion, considered to be Israel's "founding father".
When you see how many in Europe and in the United Nations have ganged up on Israel during her latest war on Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, it's easy to see how nothing has changed. See below for the detailed satirical comic strip.
The Palestinian Terrorist Organization "Hamas" - in their own voices
The "Middle East Media Research Institute" (www.memri.org) has published a video translating content from the Arab media so we can hear for ourselves what Hamas, a terrorist organization currently in power in Palestinian Gaza, is all about:
MEMRI is today releasing a new and exclusive viral video, titled "Hamas: In Their Own Voices".
The video, a compilation of MEMRI TV clips that aired prior to the current Gaza crisis, includes statements by Hamas leaders calling for the annihilation of Israel and of all Jews, for death to America, and for the Islamic conquest of the world.
Featured are Hamas leader Khaled Mash'al, Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniya, Hamas MPs Mushir Al-Masri and Fathi Hamad, Hamas MP and cleric Yunis Al-Astal, Palestinian Legislative Council acting speaker Sheikh Ahmad Bahr, and Hamas clerics Wael Al-Zarad and Muhsen Abu 'Ita.
Viewers will also witness Hamas military training for adults and children, anti-American speeches at rallies including burning of the American flag and calls of support for "The Afghan Mujahidin", Hamas Al-Aqsa TV children's shows, and more.
I wonder what would happen if one Israeli or American politician used such language? I hope CNN, the European media and other biased sources show this video, but I seriously doubt this will ever happen. The war on Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other Islamic fanatics continues.
I copy below more information on how you can share this video with others.
Here's a great video that gives a summary of events in the Middle East from the last few years:
Here are some articles posted in the last few years that support what is outlined in the above presentation:
Israeli Disengagement:click here for Information on Israel's removal of Jewish communities from the Gaza Strip in 2005. Israel removed on its own all its military, 21 towns and over 9,000 civilians from Gaza (August 23 2005). Click here for more information (August 18 2005).
Hamas rise to power: click here for information on how Islamic Fanatics won Palestinian Elections (January 28 2006).
This war against Hamas did not start in a vacuum. When the Palestinians stop firing rockets at Israeli children, this war will stop. In the meantime, the war on Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad ("Holy War") and other Islamic fanatics continues.
Palestinian leader calls for the killing of Jewish children anywhere in the World
The Times Online (www.timesonline.co.uk) reports that Mahmoud Zahar, a Palestinian leader, has declared his support for the murder of Jewish children anywhere in the World:
Mahmoud Zahar, a fanatic Muslim who calls for the murder of Jewish children anywhere in the World
[...] A Hamas leader warned that the Islamists would kill Jewish children anywhere in the world in revenge for Israel’s devastating assault.
“They have legitimized the murder of their own children by killing the children of Palestine,” Mahmoud Zahar said in a televised broadcast recorded at a secret location. “They have legitimized the killing of their people all over the world by killing our people.”
Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad are terrorist organizations with a goal of destroying the State of Israel and murdering Israeli women and children (click here for a chronology of Palestinian Homicide bombings). That said, calling for the murder of Jewish children anywhere in the World is a low, even for a brainwashed religious moron. The war against Islamic fanatics continues.
U.S. President Obama: Israel justified in its war on Hamas terrorists
Back in July 2008, U.S. President elect Barak Obama visited Sderot, a city located in the south of Israel. During the visit, Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, fired rockets at different towns in Israel, including Sderot. The New York times (www.nytimes.com) published the transcript of a press conference held in Sderot, and here's what President elect Obama said:
United States President elect Barak Obama
I don't think any country would find it acceptable to have missiles raining down on the heads of their citizens. The first job of any nation state is to protect its citizens. And so I can assure you that if -- I don't even care if I was a politician. If somebody was sending rockets into my house where my two daughters sleep at night, I'm going to do everything in my power to stop that. And I would expect Israelis to do the same thing.
President Obama also said:
Now let me just close by saying that I bring to Sderot, an unshakeable commitment to Israel's security. The state of Israel faces determined enemies who seek its destruction. But it also has a friend and ally in the United States that will always stand by the people of Israel. That's why I'm proud to be here today and that's why I will work from the moment that I return to America, to tell the story of Sderot and to make sure that the good people who live here are enjoying a future of peace and security and hope
I understand that back in July, Barak Obama was still in the middle of the U.S. presidential election campaign. But I also think that he's a smart man who has a clear understanding that Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad have a goal of destroying the State of Israel and murdering all of her 6 million citizens, including women and children. Not only President Obama won't allow this to happen, but he'll also support Israel in her war against the Islamic religious fanatic terrorists.
Israel gives Palestinian civilians early warning before attack
The Houston Chronicle (www.chron.com) has published a great article by Charles Krauthammer where he explains the difference between the States of Israel and Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists:
Late Saturday [Dec. 27], thousands of Gazans received Arabic-language cell-phone messages from the Israeli military, urging them to leave homes where militants might have stashed weapons (Associated Press, Dec. 27, 2008).
Israel is so scrupulous about civilian life that, risking the element of surprise, it contacts enemy noncombatants in advance to warn them of approaching danger. Hamas, which started this conflict with unrelenting rocket and mortar attacks on unarmed Israelis — 6,464 launched from Gaza in the last three years — deliberately places its weapons in and near the homes of its own people.
This has two purposes. First, counting on the moral scrupulousness of Israel, Hamas figures civilian proximity might help protect at least part of its arsenal. Second, knowing that Israelis have new precision weapons that may allow them to attack nonetheless, Hamas hopes that inevitable collateral damage — or, if it is really fortunate, an errant Israeli bomb — will kill large numbers of its own people for which, of course, the world will blame Israel.
For Hamas the only thing more prized than dead Jews are dead Palestinians. The religion of Jew-murder and self-martyrdom is ubiquitous. And deeply perverse, such as the Hamas TV children's program in which an adorable live-action Palestinian Mickey Mouse is beaten to death by an Israeli (then replaced by his more militant cousin, Nahoul the Bee, who vows to continue on Mickey's path to martyrdom).
At war today in Gaza, one combatant is committed to causing the most civilian pain and suffering on both sides. The other combatant is committed to saving as many lives as possible — also on both sides. It's a recurring theme.
Charles Krauthammer makes many additional good points on the latest battle against Hamas and other Palestinian Islamic terrorists - I copy the full article below.
What would you do if Islamic Terrorists fired rockets at you?
I've received a few emails questioning Israel's right to defend itself and its attacks on Hamas, the Palestinian government in the Gaza Strip. Watch this video:
Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad ("Jihad means" "Holy War"), and other Palestinian terrorist groups have literally fired over 10,000 rockets into Israeli cities since 2001 - deliberately trying to murder Israeli women and children. What would you do if your neighbors denied your right to live and fired rockets at your schools and homes?
Russian spammers hijack one our email addresses - we receive thousands of bounced messages
In the last few minutes we are receiving thousands of bounced messages because someone is sending spam in our name. Here's an example of how we've received dozens of such bounced messages in one minute at 5:45 PM:
Years ago we made sure spammers could not send spam using our email servers (we use SMTP-AUTH and pop-before-send) - so we know we are not sending the spam. In this case, Russian spammers are using one of our email addresses as the "From" email address. Some servers are then rejecting the spam, either because the email was sent to an account that is no longer valid, or it's a vacation response, etc...
We were going to try to report the Russian spammers on Spamcop.net, but we found out we can only report spam sent to us - in this case, the spam is sent to a server, which then bounces a message back to us. Here are some relevant threads:
This is really unfortunate - there's nothing we can do. Either we cancel this email address (which we'll probably do) or we ride out the wave of bounced messages. I copy below more information and the text in Russian of one of the spam messages sent in our name.
Palestinian terrorist murders three Israelis; dozens wounded
A Palestinian terrorist used a bulldozer to run over cars and overturn a bus in Jerusalem, murdering three Israelis and wounding dozens, including a 6-month old baby girl -
One of the cars crushed by the Palestinian murderer
[...] A resident of east Jerusalem rammed a bulldozer into cars, buses and pedestrians on one of Jerusalem's busiest streets, killing three people and wounding at least 45 others - including a six-month-old baby girl - before being shot dead by security personnel.
The three fatalities were identified as Jerusalem residents Zen Raluay, 68, Elizabeth Goren Friedman, 54, and Batsheva Onterman, 33 - the mother of the six-month-old baby. Goren Friedman and Onterman were buried late Wednesday night in the capital, and the details of Raluay's funeral were yet to be made public.
The attack began at noon when Husam Taysir Dwayat, a 30-year-old resident of the southeast neighborhood of Sur Bahir, drove out of a nearby light rail construction site and plowed his Caterpillar vehicle into anything and anyone, first on Rehov Sarei Yisrael and then on Jaffa Road, overturning a No. 13 Egged bus, flattening half a dozen cars and leaving destruction and carnage in his wake. "People started screaming, 'He is running us over, he is running us over!'" said traffic policewoman Elinor Nahum, 22, who was the first to shoot and wound Dwayat after nearly being crushed herself.
"He tried to run over anything that moved," said Sami Grossman, a paramedic with the Zaka rescue and recovery organization, who quickly ditched his motorcycle when the terrorist aimed his bulldozer at him and any other vehicles nearby. "I saw the bulldozer smash the car with its shovel. He smashed the guy sitting in the driver's seat," said Yaakov Ashkenazi, an 18-year-old yeshiva student.
Keren Hayesod (www.kh-uia.org.il) has published the latest stats on Israel's population:
On the eve of 2008, Israel population reached 7.241 million residents. Of this figure, 75.6 percent are Jewish (5.472 million), 20% are Arab (1.449 million) and 4.4% (320,000) are ‘others’ — immigrants who are not registered as Jews in the Interior Ministry, non-Arab Christians and residents without religious classification.
During 2007, Israel's population increased by 1.7%, just one decimal point less than the population increase noted at the end of 2006. Also, 18,000 immigrants arrived in 2007, and 149,400 babies were born.
Overall, 124,000 residents were added to the country's population during the year. Eighty-eight percent of this figure were a result of natural growth (births minus deaths), and the remaining 12% from the immigration factor - the gap between the number of immigrants and the number of emigrants.
Israel celebrates its 60th birthday, a miracle then and now
The state of Israel gained its independence from Great Britain in 1948, 60 years ago. Real Clear Politics (www.realclearpolitics.com) has published a great article by Charles Krauthammer. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad ("Holy War"), Hamas and most Arab/Muslim states call the Independence of Israel "The day of the catastrophe"" (in Arabic, "The Nakba day") - Mr. Krauthammer says:
The Israeli flag wrapped by the arms of a Holocaust survivor and her grandchild
[...] Palestinian suffering is, of course, real and heart-wrenching, but what the Arab narrative deliberately distorts is the cause of its own tragedy: the folly of its own fanatical leadership -- from Haj Amin al-Husseini, the grand mufti of Jerusalem (Nazi collaborator, who spent World War II in Berlin), to Egypt's Gamal Abdel Nasser to Yasser Arafat to Hamas of today -- that repeatedly chose war rather than compromise and conciliation.
Palestinian dispossession is a direct result of the Arab rejection, then and now, of a Jewish state of any size on any part of the vast lands the Arabs claim as their exclusive patrimony. That was the cause of the war 60 years ago that, in turn, caused the refugee problem. And it remains the cause of war today.
Six months before Israel's birth, the U.N. had decided by a two-thirds majority that the only just solution to the British departure from Palestine would be the establishment of a Jewish state and an Arab state side by side. The undeniable fact remains: The Jews accepted that compromise; the Arabs rejected it.
With a vengeance. On the day the British pulled down their flag, Israel was invaded by Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Transjordan and Iraq -- 650,000 Jews against 40 million Arabs
[...] Israel's crime is not its policies but its insistence on living. On the day the Arabs -- and the Palestinians in particular -- make a collective decision to accept the Jewish state, there will be peace, as Israel proved with its treaties with Egypt and Jordan. Until that day, there will be nothing but war. And every "peace process," however cynical or well-meaning, will come to nothing.
Mr. Krauthammer is correct: as long the Islamic Fascists reject the existence of the State of Israel, there will be war. Israeli Jews will simply not just give up on living. In the meantime the war against Islamic Fascists and other racist and intolerant morons continues. I copy the full article below.
